Horrible customer service and generally horrible company
I recently received my last months bill which About his deal that is probably double to almost triple what are usually get charge for my electricity. I found out that my thermostat and heater was not working properly and basically my heater was working double what it should.
My Apartment complex finally fixed the issue however when I contacted Jackson EMC to see about getting a credit due to the mount function I was really told that I would not be getting any type of credit and that the electricity was use they are for the bill was due. The manager John and I believe his name was was very rude and cut me off while I attempted to explain to him the Malfunction. They should be definitely options of credit or adjustments for customers who can provide proof of issues related to a higher bill.
Lastly when I requested a copy of my usage to be emailed to me he said he was going to do it but I have yet to receive any email. This is just plain old horrible customer service and I intend to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Service cut off 7 days after due date
I work busy seasons where I work 7 days a week, 10 to 15 hours a day. I forget to pay things.
I can understand cutting off for non payment if it is over 30 days and a large amount. But I owe $170, have been a customer for over 12 years, and the due date was changed, for their convenience to the 9th. Today is the morning of the 17th.
Unbelievable that this is allowed for a utility company to practice like this. I will make sure to write to everyone I can to tell them what a scam this company is!

We've been without power for three days. I called to find out if they would be working in our area today.
After waiting on the phone for 15-20 minutes for a person Betty came on the line. What a ***. I pay my bill I waited 3 days without power before trying to get a little information. That hateful *** talked to me in a condescending manner.
She said there were broken poles, and it takes several hours to fix them. Only thing is no poles are down around us, and they have power on both ends of the roads to this neighborhood.

I hate that we can't pick our on power company. I have had toask for an extension of 7 days and tried for 2 hours to get it to go thru all it would do is turn and turn....
however got it to go thru on Sunday.... It was paid and now they say I can have another extension for 6months for one broken, Friday to sunday that wasn't my fault..... They won't give ya time to pay and they just laugh at ya on the phone when you call... it's 90+ degrees,my 80 yr old mother lives with me and they wont wait 9 days for payment..
not good customer service... but what can we do, they have us by the balls so i guess we sit here with NO power for 9 days, food will ruin and hopefully she won't die from heat stroke all for 9 *** days...

CUT SERVICE AND LAUGH AT YOU WHEN YOU CANT GET A TIMEFRAME
They cut my service because they didn't receive my check. They charge you a $70 connection fee and $130 if its "AFTER HOURS".
You dont get a courtesy call to tell you theyre about to cut it off. You get home to a hot house. Of course they say its "not their fault" aka not their problem, sucks for you. They wont give me a straight answer when they would reconnect.
When I called after the 10th time (5 hours later) they did it in a few seconds. I cant go to another service because they don't service my area!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very frustrating to use this company. Don't use them if you have other options.

From your *** online site to you customer service associates. Ga power is so much better! At least they have an online payment service that makes sense and customer service representative associates that know what's going on. I call you and you tell me tall call back??
What kind of lazy bull *** is that. If the electricity market was unregulated, you guys would go under real quick. Just pathetic!! You should be ashamed!!!
This company needs to restructure and get rid of these old white ladies that hate their job.
Hire some tech savy young people and update your *** site. Get with it!

I completely agree ! I am very unhappy with this company .
I do have to ask for payment arrangements nearly every month as my power bills seem to be $400 + It's outrageous ! Always honor my arrangements and now they don't even want to offer arrangements.
Suggested I ask a church to help me pay .
I have other friends and neighbors who travel often are not home much and have $500 bills per month and not understanding why they are so high
