I hate them with a passion. They charge you a bunch of fees after turning off your services. They live to turn off services because they make so much money on the backhand. I wish i could go elsewheres but unfortunately they are the only ones allowed in this area.

I have stage 3 cancer and I just spent a week in the hospital so I asked for a few more days to pay my bill. We have made payment arrangements in the past no problem. Now today i am hit with you haven't kepr your payment arrangements I said I certainly have she then says no you have to pay it by 5pm the day you set it for. I spoke with my attorney and he said if an arrangement is made you have until midnight that day to pay it. Don't know what to do now they are turning it off on the 28th. I guess I could float a check to them to give me some time. They used to be very nice to work with not since the beginning of this year.

This company sucks. I am on disability. The charges are out of control. I have paid them over $1,100. Over the past two months and they are charging me an additional $200 deposit. They said they would give me till 10-11-15 to pay $500. They came out on the 7th and shut me off. Thank GOD a friend of mine paid it. They charged me 75 additional for reconnection fee and now if I don't pay an addtional $245 by Monday 10-19-15. They are gonna shut me off. I have heart monitor. I begged them and She said we collect our bills. She was almost laughing at me acting like she was GOD. Please someone do something about This evil company.

Charging me for outside light that has been turned off for estimated 3 years.

Jackson EMC bill is in my landlords name. The landlord lives in a different city, and only in the day time hours has come to the farm here. There is an outside light here, which was ordered to be turned off years ago (estimating 5 or more years). The light has been turned off by JEMC for years, when Jackson EMC suddenly showed up to have their operations department remove the light and pole, due to the fact that the light had not been in use for years, and they were to remove the light and pole. I as the tenant, send JEMC payment to landlord, or directly pay Jackson EMC monthly, for the electricity bill for the house that I rent. I call JEMC pay by phone services to get the total each month. The landlord here gave me the account number years ago, and I just call JEMC automated services, and get the monthly amount due, and pay it with the account number on the bill by automated services. JEMC will allow me to pay the bill, but since the bill is in my landlord's name, JEMC will not discuss any details of this bill. My landlord even spoke with JEMC and still had a hard time convincing this woman that I pay the bill, and it is fine to discuss the bill with me?? Go figure. Unknowingly to me, until last week (3/25/15), the bill which I have been paying for years, included the charge for this outside light. It looks like $20.00 per month for estimating 3 years minimum. Which would total 36 months x $20 a month = $720 that I have paid on top of the ridiculous charges for electricity. That is how I saw this $20 charge for the outside light, as I called my landlord and asked her to send me a copy of the bill, because it was about $130 a month higher in Feb. and March this year, than last year at this time. My electric bill for February was $357 and for March was $347, which is about $130 more each month than last year. I am a single woman struggling to survive. I have no clothes dryer, dish washer or electric stove and have not for some time. The only power usage is heating, and lights and my bill was $357 and $347?? So far, the head customer service woman that I spoke with on 3/31/15 was very rude, and stated that she did not know if there was anything that they could do. I asked her for copies of the bills that have been paid as far back as she could go, she told me to ask my landlord to make me copies of their bills???? She told me that she could not find a work order where JEMC came out to remove the light outside, and that she did not think that there was anything that they could do. I have a problem with JEMC billing me monthly for a light that was turned off years ago. Then this woman at JEMC is going to tell me to have my landlord pull up the copies of the bills. My landlord by the way is a doctor, and I did not think that was her job to go back and research JEMC's billing for a light that had been turned off for years, but was still being billed for on this farm. Why would JEMC have sent a work crew to come and pick up the light and pole 3 years ago, if I was using this light?? This does not make any sense to me. So far, they said that they could not find a work order where they even came out to get the light 3 years ago. So far, they have no record where the light was ever even turned off. (Don't know why they would come to remove it, if it were not already turned off) Luckily, my neighbor works on JEMC operations crew, and at least he was honest enough to say yes Cyndie, I remember our crew coming out to get that pole and light. If not for this, I doubt that they would even help, it seems. I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED as to the results of the $20 a month and how long they have been receiving the $20 a month from me for nothing. To me $20 is like $200 at this point in my life. Wish me luck, Right is right and wrong is wrong. Hopefully,I will have good news to report on JEMC customer service to restore some of the hope of what the meaning of customer service is, we will see. Cyndie 4/1/15

OK so far, after not giving up. I kept trying to get to the head of the department

that I was having problems with.

Oh course, like most companies, you have

employees who truly care about customers, and you have employees who truly

care about the company (they don't get that the customers are what funds the

company) and then you have employees who just don't care, period. Today,

I had much help from a JEMC employee, who is turning my information into the district manager. We will see how this goes. Will keep you posted.

Tired from dealing with all of this, but more hopeful now. NOTE: If you are in the right, do not give up.

Do not be lazy, stand up for your self. JUST be sure that you have honest facts, if not than you are doing this for what reason??

This has been a good thing. We should all stand up for right and wrong (both),

imagine the elderly and sick people who cannot.

Maybe this will help those who

feel like giving up. All of this help me to remember, my grandmother was one

of the original four, very first UNION welders in Georgia, while her husband, my

grandfather was off fighting in WWI. Their son, my father, also was 17 years old

when he was fighting for our country in WWII. I ain't made of no wimpy blood lines!!!!!

Neither are you!!! P.S.

I do thank God for people who care for others, no matter who they are. Be sure to speak out on the good things companies do, and not just the bad, ok??

I would think the bill for the light is the landlords.He got the bill did not pay and now is added to your electric.Do not pay for the light it is not your responsibity as a tenant.

Shut off date yesterday called them they couldnt delay til friday since they were already on the way. Man showed up said he would come today. Called them back since he didnt shut it off and still wouldnt give us til friday. I have crohns disease my daughter has asthma and is sick right now! We also have 2 dogs and a cat.. 500.00$ deposit really? And both the customer service reps were incredibly rude. Id rather move than use this company!

this company is sneaky and abuses the privilege of being an electricity provider by enforcing strict policies, drumming up unreasonable excusesto charge their "members" unwarranted, miscellaneous and ridiculous charges. If I have to move to get a better electric provider, that's just what I'll do. This company is too vulnerable and greedy to be seeing the public.

New meter coustes my bill to go higher

since jackson emc put a new digital meter in my light bill has been higher the less i use the more it costes me before the new meter i could keep my bill $100 or less but now it`s always above $100 ive complain but they don`t care i rarely take showers or bath i just wash off to keep the water heater from running much i keep the temp down to 65 or lower wearing longjohns and coates when the power was out my house stayed at 55 when it was 25 outside i know their meter is wrong but it`ll cost me for them to check it bad company to do bussiness with

my new bill is higher after i complained even after keeping things turned of and not letting things stay on that don`t need to be on still keeping heat turned down and wearing longjhons and coats to stay warm..bill went from 150 to 160 not including late fees i want the old meter back..i would like to talk to the ceo..i believe they program the meter to read more than is used..when i did complain they said it would cost ME!! $30 to have their meter check it`s their meter they need to check it for free..

Disgusted. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I can see disconnecting someone if you are a new customer or maybe a month late. But 8 days. There isn't 1 company I deal with that does that. Not At&t, not xfinity not the water company or even my insurance company. Either the company's in trouble or the new CEO is sticking it to everyone..best way for a company to raise revenue is with fees and more excuses to charge fees.. Nice job Chip!

I did not use my heater as much and bill doubled. They say it was colder outside making the thermostat take longer to cut off.

I asked what about if I wasn't home and didn't use it at all.

They still justify blaming high bill on cold temperature. I feel I have no control of my usage.

I still don't have power at my house because my power pole is laying on ground and it can't be touched until the mere is pulled. I have to put up a new pole and they still have not sent out anyone just to pull meter so we can get it fixed. I still have a tree on my power line. It would not take them just a min to pull a meter. Im going to call all day today to see if they can do a simple little task. I would have had power last night but they are dragging their ***. So maybe I will have power today.
