My bill was $122 due 9/19 today my service was turned off w no noticed and they recharged the deposit that was credited originally. Charged at 15 late fee and 70 reconnection fee. I never received a call or letter. I find it poor to disconnect service after 6 days of lateness. Im new to the state. I had no idea this would occur and didnt know my due date

Jackson EMC IS THE WORST COMPANY I EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH IN MY LIFE. THESE SOB ARE UNREALISTIC THEY TURN OFF MY POWER FOR A $100 BAL THEN CHARGED ME $70 TO RECONNECT THEN I HAD TO WAIT OVER 2 HOURS FOR THEM TO TURN THE *** LIGHTS BACK ON. THEY KNOW THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH THIS *** BECAUSE WE HAVE NO OTHER OUTLET OR CHOICE OF ELELCTIC SERVICE IN THE AREA.. THEY SUCK I HATE THESE ***!!!

Jackson EMC takes advantage of their customers. Ten days late on your current bill and they disconnect with ungodly charges for reconnect and then ask for a deposit. If their customers had money like this to give away, I'm sure we could find nonprofit organizations that are in more need for donations. When customers are late paying, it's typically because funds are low.
