I am unworthy

It's the most hungry company I've ever met in my life, I've been a customer for several years, their only goal is to cut off your electricity, to charge you for reconnection. I AM NOT PROUD TO BE PART OF THIS COMPANY, WHAT IS CORPORATION, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RUDE STAFF.

Cut my power 3 weeks after bill was paid

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
It almost seems that 4 year olds are in charge. I paid a total balance of 258.00 on September 10th. They emailed me a disconnection notice before I ever recieved the next bill. If I had another option for my electricity I would drop them so fast. Completely ridiculous how they treat their customers.

They made me pay a 20-year late Bill to start new service. What happened to statute of limitations. These people suck worse than Obama

I had a past due bill with them that was 20 years old. They made me pay it before I can start new services. You know that that stuff was written off in 1998 and now they're getting paid double. They suck worse than Obama

Told that I would have remote access but today I found out if I had logged into the app it would tell me that we had to have yet another upgrade to have remote access. I’ve been with them for years and this is continuous. You have to pay monthly and for all the upgrades for them to continue monitoring you and you want know till it’s too late.

Outrageous fee to turn power back on.

Okay, i lost track of time and my power got cut off. They flip a switch or type in a few keys and click a mouse to turn it back on, but $70 reconnect fee? Are they serious? Do they think i have a money tree outside? Darn cell phone only charges $20. Try to call. Automated crap. On hold for 18 minutes to talk to someone. I can hear you, your phone is breaking up. I hear you just fine. I can understand you, let me try with headphone. Back on hold and then line goes dead. Try to contact local office. Dial the local number. Same automated line. Will be on hold due to large volume of calls. Meanwhile, my cell is sucking battery power while I wait and I have to hear annoying on hold "music".

Ripping me off

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have not lived in my home since Nov 11th. Everything in the home is unplugged except the router (which isn't being used) and the refrigerator. To prevent pipes freezing, I have the thermometer set at 62. Everything else is turned off including the stove, water (from the well), and water heater.

Jackson charged me $136 for period of 11/9-12/11. When I called, they say it's correct but if I want, they can send someone to my home to double check it, even though it's correct, but I will have to pay them another $35.

Last month they charged me $89 which I knew was wrong but I paid it. I was living there during that cycle but kept the heat at 65-68.

It's bad enough not having an income and having to move in with a relative who lives out of town, but it's worse getting ripped off and not being able to do anything about it.

I've never been late on my bill and they charge whatever they want every month. I've never taken the time to complain before, but this time I plan to take it further. It's just not right.

UNHAPPY J EMC customer

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
These folks are insanely attentive to billing - If i had ANY options to choose differently ( Thanks to GA MONOPOLY UTILITY *** ) I would have fired Jackson EMC years ago. RIDICULOUS corporate approach. Their On Phone client support isnt bad - in fact, their people seem to be "OK" when spoken to. What IS the issue? - Overdue bill and instead of sending second bill they instead send threatening letter with a disconnect date. In MY case I travel on business and missed paying it. ONLY this morning I was taking care of bills etc when disconnection brownshirt employee shows up in my driveway. had i NOT been working at HOME today, id have come home to no power and about $1500 worth of dead salt water tank fish. And for those idiots about to suggest online banking I do that usually but didnt even check on mine due to business travel etc. I didnt think Jackson EMC was going to be that ridiculous in the way they mishandle their clients. I pray I run into their BOD members. NOT a happy customer. YOURE fired if EVER I get an opportunity.

Disconnected my service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
On October 17, 2018, I arrived home to find the JEMC truck on my driveway. I assumed the field agent was coming to put in a new meter. He was there with his tools to disconnect my service totally. I was appalled because I had paid my past due bill on September 26, 2018. I only owed for October. It was due on the 9 of October. I could not believe they were going to disconnect my service since I only owed for October. I immediately called their customer service representative who was very rude in explaining that I owed for this month and would have to pay the present amount plus a reconnection fee and another deposit. I was so upset because I have lived in this house for 18 years and have not had my service disconnected before. The customer service representative did notice from my records that I had not had service disconnected so as a courtesy she allowed me not to pay the deposit. But warned me not let my service be disconnected again or I would have to pay a deposit. I want my reconnection fee back because I did not even have a past due. I asked her why my service was disconnect and she rudely replied I had paid slow that was why JEMC disconnected my service. I have never had a problem with Jackson EMC before. I want my reconnection fee and an explanation as to why my service was disconnected. Also JacksonEMC customer services representative and their field agents need training in how to treat their customers.

Left my front yard is shambles!!!

In the 6 years I’ve lived here they’ve Dug my yard up three times and never replaced the sod. I have spend hundreds and the just keep telling me ...”we aren’t a landscape company”. There’s something called morals and they are that either. Dude in the phone literally told me “folks in your Nieghborhood complain more than any other. And we handle them a little different”.

Cut Power Off before 45 days due

I have a 3 month old baby, my girlfriend went on maternity leave at 5 months pregnant, she was fainting at work. They cut my power off today and I called them and it was $130 fee to restore power remotely, I tried explaining my situation and the best they could do was $70 reconnection fee plus the bill and the other $60 on my next bill.

I explained to her that I’m in a limited budget and that I have a 3 month old baby, the rep hung up on me. I called back and after a lengthy hold time I got the same rep. She repeated the same thing over and over. I paid my bill plus $70 more with the rest added to my next bill.

My lights were back in in less than 5 minutes. What a ripoff to charge people $130 to remotely turn your lights back on. Jackson Electric is a ripoff. I’ve never had my lights off before.

I fell behind cause I have a new baby. No compassion from them

Customer Service/Bill

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I went to pay my moms bill, I had the bill with me, circled the problem I wanted to ask question about. I asked, or tried but was actually cut off with the explanation (or rather practiced speech it felt like) the lady did not look at what I was asking about only went on to say her speech of every ones bill has doubled because of the rates, I again said I circled what I would like you to look into on my moms bill and was once again interrupted with the same words about the bill, she took the bill and money and stapled the receipt to the bill on which I had circled without once looking at it or looking it up to see about.

The rates may have been the explanation but without checking how would that be known ?

When an elderly person lives on a certain amount of money and then pays out thousands within a year to JEMC,at the very least respect and time should be made when there are concerns.
